FORTHCOMING

Among the Maasai

In lilting prose, this memoir takes the reader from the foothills of Kilimanjaro, across the Great Rift Valley, and into the opaque world of the Maasai, where the author and her students discover together what it means to be a woman in the 21st century.

THE AUTHOR

Juliet Cutler

In the late 1990s, Cutler lived in Tanzania where she taught at the first secondary school for Maasai girls in East Africa. In her memoir, she bears witness to the stories of her Maasai students and paints a powerful picture of daily life in Tanzania from the 1990s to today.

A Blog About Journeys

Those of us who love to travel often seek the uncharted, the new, and the unknown. We yearn to broaden our horizons, figuratively and physically. Sometimes we travel far and wide, and other times we find what we seek just around the corner. Mostly, though, we choose our journeys not for where they’ll take us, but for how they’ll shape us.
